Intel Arc A730M GPU Disappoints: Loses To RTX 3060M Despite Using Latest Drivers I’m fairly new to all this but think I’ve understood the basics. The first performance review of Intel's Arc A730M GPU using the official drivers that support the mobility GPU have been published and it looks like the gaming performance still isn't that good. I’ve seen people claim better performance after upgrading from a 4790k to a better cpu and motherboard combo with my gpu so I’m confused. Surely the frame rate draw call of the gpu to the cpu will only be stressed more if I was demanding more frames. But again, if it can handle 4k 60fps on high do I need to upgrade?

Sometimes I take my rig which is fairly portable down to my lounge onto my 4k setup which obviously tanks the FPS and gpu utilisation on my 5700xt so I drop the settings to high. If my current rig runs my games at 1440p on ultra just fine do I need to go for a new mobo, ram and cpu upgrade? I feel like I want to because I love tech but why should I if I won’t see any benefit? If my screen is locked to 60 and my card is near maxed I won’t be able to get any better quality just from a better cpu bundle right? As I still have capacity left as it is.

Games like MCC it’s like 30% but I digress. My CPU rarely goes above 50/60%, ram utilisation is 25% ish and GPU is around 80-90% most of the time on most games at ultra/very high. Games I play are, The Forest, F1 2019, The Witcher 3, Destiny 2, Halo MCC, Forza Horizon 4. It’s often much higher than that if I don’t lock it but I have a 60hz 1440p monitor so no point right? I may be wrong. I’m currently running a 4770k 32gb DDR3 Z97 gaming 5 and a Sapphire 5700xt reference.Īt the moment I can run all my games at 1440p ultra with maybe a two or three settings locked down to high or very high at 60fps locked. 0303, īaseBoard ManufacturerĚSUSTeK COMPUTER INC. I'm planning on cleaning it out today, and am thinking about getting a new fan-not sure how large of one I can fit as the case I have is short and fat-not exactly a tower. I posted what I thought was relevant below-hope this helps. I'm a newb so i'm not that knowledgeable at this. I think it's the stock fan-i inherited the machine from a friend. Playing Fallout 4 I noticed that it got up to 91c and while playing World of Warships it got in the 80s I believe. | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | Seems like a great value for a high end CPU. Looking at the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, but not sure if it's the best for my uses. I will be spending more of my time gaming than anything else and I already have a GTX 1080 which I feel like I can wait to upgrade. I've been dabbling in Cinema 4d lately, but it's not a top priority. I'm a full-time video editor at a company so most of my editing will be side projects. Wondering if I should wait for DDR5 to come out. Getting some money from the stimulus and elsewhere and looking to upgrade.
